The Guilt

The guilt that I denied that beggar

When a coin was just a meager

I could have helped that blind

Whom for no reason I declined

The guilt of leaving her alone

The guilt of minding my own

When I look back at the sand

Lonely footprints with no helping hand

So much of fortune, but none to share

Instead of ecstasy, why such despair

Now in the world, vast as sea

I find only me.
